History
Hillstown Miners' Welfare Trust.
Originally set up by the miners to support the welfare of workers in the local community.

1924
A regular subscription was collected from the miners and eventually a suitable plot of land at Hillstown was purchased. A miners’ welfare club was built and the remainder was to used as a recreation/sports field.



The Right Honourable Seymour Henry Earl Bathurst
sold the land to the holders of The Hillstown Miners' Welfare Fund
29th November 1924
